Stokes Select Finch Feeder

Post by alicefred » Mon Jun 14, 2010 8:11 am

Hello friends..
This is my first post on this forum so please be gentle. Last night while searching for a budget friendly finch feeder, I stumbled across a 'Stokes Select Finch Feeder' at PetSmart for $16.99 through http://www.dealrocker.com discount deal. According to the company this feeder specially designed to attract all varieties of finches: goldfinches, purple finches and house finches. It holds 1.1 pounds of seed. Does anyone have any experience with this finch feeder? Want to know your views before buying it. If you have any better recommendation on same budget, please let me know.

Thanks..

Here's a more direct link to the product in question -

It will work fine but I think you could find it or other feeders more economical, especially in the USA... and welcome to the Finch Forum!! =D>

PS - Is that gentle enough?

Welcome!

I have a similar feeder and found that the tube feeder really attracts a lot of finches. They especially enjoy the shelled sunflower seeds, so that's what we fill it with now. (We have several other feeders with mixed seed as well, and a thistle feeder which especially attracts the gold finches.)
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.
