Early Molting?
I'm a newbie to finches, having just received my first pair of male Gouldians only a few days ago. I was told by the breeder I obtained them from that they are about 10 months old. One of them, I've just noticed this morning, is sprouting white feather points on his head, indicative (I think) of a coming molt (or could this be the remnants of his first molt? I don't as of yet have any first hand experience in these matters). Is this possible so soon after his first molt, or have I been sold an older bird? Is there any way to tell by sight the approximate age of a finch?

Re: Early Molting?
The head is always the last thing to molt - so he is more than likely finishing up a molt, not starting one
