Does anyone have any tips or resources you can pass on as to how to find breeders in Michigan? I found one but she's WAYYYY up north and the other 2 don't breed finches. Yikes! This is harder than I thought it was going to be!
Thanks a bunch!

Jill.....here are some links you can check out. Depending on where you are in Michigan I see some listings for bird breeders in my Birdtalk magazine and also Birds USA (Birdtalk's Annual).
You can check on Hoobly....Here are some finch listings in Michigan. If they are not close to you you could even e-mail them and ask if they know of any in your area.

Here is another bird breeder link:
http://www.birdbreeders.com/
And you could also try CraigsList in your area....breeders are not supposed to post ads but you could post an inquiry as "looking For Finches"...you might get some info that way.
Hope this helps a little!

Just adding another source:

Just scroll down to Michigan (the states are listed in red on the right hand side) and there are some Gouldian breeders listed....maybe some are close to you.

I live near the Michigan/Indiana line. Close to South Bend area. There is a local breeder here that breeds societies, zebras, goulds, not sure what else.
Very nice guy. I have got a nice society from him.
Not sure if I can post his phone number on the forum.
If you want his number, PM me. I know he had a ad in local paper recently.

You can also try Jim at
Emerald Isle Aviary - he breeds, shows, and maybe is also a dealer.
