I have gotten much better at catching them now....My hands are finally up to speed and I use the help of a small net to scoop them up. Live and Learn!

Put their food and water in there and leave the big door open until they get the hang of it, then when they are comfortable, make them use a little door, which you can rig to stay open and trip it to trap whatever bird you need to handle for whatever reason. Probably ten times faster and only one hundredth as stressful for it and the other birds in the flight.
Each of my flights have a detachable catching cage in which the birds are fed for a few days. The sliding door is operated from a distance with fishing line.Less panic but patience needed.....Paul.

That is a smart trap setup you have there. But it wouldn't work for me being I have a regular flight cage and can't cut into the bars....but I could make a little box like that and put inside the cage with something to tempt them into there. Well actually I can't make anything like that but my Hubby (my resident handyman) could easily make one.

Thanks for the great idea and pic....it always helps to see a pic to understand things! :D
