Showing Finches

I was wondering if anyone here shows their finches in bird shows? If so, how do you get started? How do you prepare the birds? Do the birds have to have specific markings for that species? There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on the Internet on this topic.

I don't, though I may try in the spring. A great resource is http://www.nfss.org (National Finch and Softbill Society). You can get information on showing, a copy of the judges handbook, see the classifications, etc. The society also has a Yahoo group with some very active members who show, and I'm sure they'd love to answer any questions you may have.
