No, I am serious. Perhaps someone here who is better at searching through the forum can bring up the thread. They made a little printed bird on a clip to keep their finch company until they could find him a new mate. Bathtime was a problem, the faux bird got splattered.

Have also known parakeet people who put a plastic parakeet in the cage for company.

For poop reasons, I'd go with less fuzz. And it should be realistic size.

Know of parrotlet people who did give their bird a stuffed toy. More than one case. The bird loved it. Really. The bird LOVED it until it was so disgusting they threw it out. =))

Here! I found it!

"I "Printed Out" My Male Owl A New Mate!"

The pictures are gone, but you can still read the descriptions.

I know! Origami! An origami bird partner.

*tongue between teeth, frantically folding*
Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild.

I actually ended up at pet smart today , although it's not my favorite pet shop. I bought two fake stuffed wanna-be canaries. I'll try to post a picture of my poor Luciano with his version of a blow-up bride . It's going to be a once in a life time shot if I can manage to snap it.
I can see it now....my poor boy, with his eyes bugging out of his little orange head, going 'peeue, peeue, PEEUUUE!!!   'What is IT??? LOL. If he jumps on her, she will squeek....OMG-OMG.... =)) =)) =)) =))

I'm not sure if this is the same "disco ball" Zebrafincher is referring to...that he owns, but this is the one my parakeet owns and loves. I hope the link works. If not I will attach a picture in the next post. About the subject of the painted bride, or picture of a finch. Not sure how it works for finches but my parakeet Jo Jo is in love with the green and yellow parakeet on the bag of F.M Browns Parakeet Seed. He sings to it, dances to it, does what my husband and I call "twerking" but I really believe he's mating in mid air by hanging on the bell up against the perch as he looks at the bird. I never saw anything like it in my life! #-o So....I know they have beautiful gouldian finches on the F.M. Brown bags. Very attractive mates that won't eat much! :D http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OW ... UTF8&psc=1

LOL. I think that sort of behavior would make me blush, cover my eyes and apoligize to whichever bird was engaged in it. We should get them a little 'do not disturb' sign. =))

It's very embarrassing when someone comes over. I've never seen anything like it with all the parakeets we've ever owned! I want to get him a real mate so he can....well you know....but my husband thinks he will stop talking and pay attention to her only. He talks A LOT!!!
