Any ideas about my bird?

One of my zebra finch female start showing some hair bald on her head and near back area, what's going on? I've been feeding every single bird great food, and calcium etc each day. I have only one finch got problem, which nobody fighting or plucking in the cage either. What could this be? Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance!

Usually that is the love bite of an amorous male.

I hope so, but this has been over 2 weeks now and no sign of feather growing back yet

hope she won't be like this forever, I don't want to put any unnecessary medications on her in case make things worse, since I'm not 100% sure know what's the symptoms yet? Any advices what should I do? Thanks in advance.

David, the same thing happened to my male zebra a couple of months ago. I thought he was molting at first, but the feather loss only occurred in the back of his head & neck area. At one point, he looked practically bald. I gave him vitamin laced water, extra millet seeds & egg food. That apparently did the trick and his feather grew back after about 3 weeks. He looks fine now.

Thanks for your reply, I really hope so since I've been feeding her a lot of food and calcium etc. Will post back here no matter if her condition improve or not. I'm glad your zebra finch get better
