I got a little scare this morning. I just woke up and went in the room were the birds are and I saw the female on the floor of the cage. It's still dark outside so at first I didn't know if she was dead or what, but she was not on her side. Her foot was sticking out of the bars and I thought maybe she's stuck. Anyway, when I got closer to the cage she flew back up to the perches and seems ok. Just unusual to see her sleeping on the cage floor, she's always with the male or on a perch near by.
Has any of your birds done this? I will keep an eye on her the rest of the day but so far she seems ok.

Yeah - just keep an eye on her for today. I've come down to the birdroom in the morning to find one sleeping on the ground on occassion. I think perhaps they might slip off their perch (rare but it does happen) or perhaps night fright...? Is there a night light in there for them to find there way back to their perch?
If she looks and acts okay today I would not worry about it.

No there is no nightlight. I feel bad now that she could have fell off the perch and couldn't find her way back
I have a little light in the kitchen which is right next to their room because I get up with the baby and I thought that might be enough. Will get a nightlight for them.
She seems perfectly fine now, but I'll continue to monitor her.
Thanks all,
Renee
