I'll be visiting relatives in the St.Petersburg, FL area in a week. I'm just wondering if there are any great bird oriented pet shops or similar places to visit. The only pet stores I have in my area are big box stores with very limited selection.
Thank you!

There are not a lot in the area that I can recommend, small mom and pop stores and chains. I normally do not frequent the small pet stores and go into the chain stores to get basics when I need them.
If you are looking for cages at a reasonable price some of the flea markets, the one in Oldsmar has a good selection, they carry birds, some they breed others they buy from individual breeders. The are in "I" building.....back left hand side. They carry toys, foods, accessories and cages/flights.

Cindy,
Thank you for your input. I will look into heading to the Oldsmar flea market. I can never pass up a good deal on bird supplies

Cindy
I just wanted to give you a big thank you for your suggestion to visit the bird shop in the Oldsmar Flea Market. I had a blast looking at everything they had. What a selection! 5000 sq ft of bird supplies! I went with a shopping list for myself and two friends. It was a lot of fun shopping with someone else's money! Hehe
I found everything I was looking for. Cages, toys and seed. I am adding another Gouldian and a parrotlet to my flock soon, so of course I had to get the new parrotlet a new cage full of fun toys!
I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful.... of course my total haul barely fit in my vehicle, so I am sure they made sure to be extra helpful since I went home with 3 cages, one of those huge macaw sized cargo nets, plus nest boxes, etc... They told me to come back soon! lol
