Fountains?

Has anyone ever used or does use a small table fountain inside their flights or larger cagea to add some personality to their set ups? Just curious, I have seen a couple videos of finch flights, heavily decorated with greenery, where I hear running water but haven't seen it. So I don't know if it's in the room or in the cage. I love the sound of running water as an addition to the flight. Could it work?

Seems to me it would need some type of filtration system. Birds do like to play in water. I had a goldfish pond outdoors when I had homing pigeons. They loved to play in the water fall!!! I have pics of the whole flock around the water taking turns splashing, Lol.
But it had a filtration system.

I put one in one of my flights when I first got my birds, thinking how cool it would be for them to have it. Mine is battery operated, and it quickly went through the batteries. They did love it, though it was hard to keep clean. Yes, on the filtration system as a necessity. I think if I had some sort of a shelter above it, also, so that it wouldn't get pooped on from above, that might be a good option, and a plug-in fountain instead of battery operated.

Do you know any small ones that have filteration systems in that can be purchased online? I have been browsing,mbut not luck with a filter one. I was thinking if I couldn't find one with a filter, but just a plug in one, to make sure it's NOT under any branches or greenery where they can hang out and poop all day in it.

You could probably make your own filter. There is a material for fish tank filters that I use for a bird fountain slash bath just off my front porch, and it catches all kinds of crud and keeps my pump from getting clogged.

For the water to be truly clean enough for indoor birds I am thinking filter floss (mechanical filtration) would work as long as something like aviclens was used in the water. And it was changed frequently. (Chemical filtration)
Since the water would need more than just one type of filtration; mechanical with biological or chemical.
The mechanical will only catch the debris. Micro organisms can build up without the addition of another type. For my outdoor pond, I built a filter box that utilized all three.

There is a pet drinking fountain I just found. Sorry I am on my phone and dnot know how to copy links. Google drinkwell pagoda pet fountains. You can buy filters that have charcoal and sponge filters, or just sponge filters. I would still use avicleanse or similar as well. t isn't plug and play though and uses a 12v.
I am not recommending the product . I have never used it. I am using it as an example of what you would need.

I have a battery operated one that I tried using and it just wasn't practical. It went through batteries like mad.

I had to clean it daily. It was positioned so it wasn't under any perches, but they still pooped it up.

They really did love it, though.
Birds and other animals are naturally attracted to running water because in nature, running water is clean water (whereas standing water is usually stagnant and icky.)

I haven't for the time being, BUT I have seen people using the fountains you spoke of in youtube, it even had a tiny spring to keep the water fresh.

I've even seen a video of a bird room using a plastic pond, complete with fish swimming in it! of course there's plants near the pond so it might help the bird to get out of the water before drowning...
