Bird shows
If one is going to a bird show and plans to buy birds, does the vendor put them in bird boxes or can one bring a small cage?

Re: Bird shows
Some vendors will supply small boxes or small travel carriers. Some will charge extra for small travel carriers. A few may not have any boxes or carriers (you can usually purchase a small travel carrier from one of the cage vendors). Once I attended a few marts, I had built up a supply of the small travel carriers from the purchases I had made!
Until then, I would recommend carrying a small travel cage with you--usually something that will fit in one of those recyclable grocery bags is good, so you have a comfortable handle, and then the bird(s) are protected from drafts, etc.
Keep in mind that all marts/fairs will have birds for sale, but not all shows will have anything for sale (those are exclusively shows). When I add marts/fairs/shows to the calendar now, I am trying to remember to note at the top of the listing whether it is a mart, a show, or a show/mart.
Your local show in Houston on October 10 is a show/mart.
