Abbreviations

It seems there are two minds here on abbreviations. One is that we should just learn the abbreviations. And the other is that they shouldn't be used, or used less.

I'd hope there is middle ground here. Older minds (mine!) could get a little more curious about the lingo. And others could be a little more accommodating, and not quite so cryptic.
