Would like to add some fast growing vines around the Aviary...
Would a Pink Bower Vine be safe?
I just love it, and it's an evergreen too.
Looked on the web, but cant find out.
So, I am asking the "experts"...
Or, what would you reccomend?
I am in Texas.
Thanks,
Adrienne

I believe that all plants( excluding fungi) are safe in an aviary.
otherwise how do birds survive in the wild, they must know what they can and cant eat if they didn't there would be no birds.
an example of this is rosemary (the herb) it is listed everywhere as toxic for birds. but I have had it planted in my aviary for two years now and not lost a single bird from it, they dont eat it. all it is used for is as a nesting site. especially by firefinches as it is close to the ground (which they seem to prefer).
here is a link to some pics that show a few safe aviary plants, that finches can & do eat
