making some new sounds

Hi, we recently discovered that Chaucer isn't in fact, a boy, but he is a she. Which was kind of disappointing. Last night we were up a little later than normal and the birds were up, too, and we heard some weird noises. Chaucerette was making a sound like a duck that was really far away. I don't really know how to describe it. Like a breathy whisper. What does this indicate? Any help would be great thanks!!

I think of that as "bed talk" - that low murmuring before they go to sleep. Kind of like "Did you have a good day?" "Yea. Could you move over a little and get your foot off my head." "Sure. Do you think they'll give us millet tomorrow?"

Right before bed, I often hear Casper asking Freebird, "Gotta go potty?"

LOL tammie!! that's SO cute, you need to teach him to say Love you, or Night Night! The gotta go potty is pretty darn good though

Yeah I probably should.

But instead I'm currently trying to teach him to say, "I'm a silly budgie". I'd settle for "silly budgie".

My birds just say, "Hey, who turned out that light? Can't you see I still have some more pooping to do before the day is over?!?"

You know, I hadn't thought about it, but my lights go out just before dusk, so then the birds have natural lowering of light from the windows, and there is always a lot of sound coming from the cages--not loud chirping, just a low murmuring....hmmm..."Good night, John Boy--good night, Elizabeth..." Could be, at least I'd like to think so.

I'm setting mine on timers to go out one after the about 15 minutes apart, plus a little window candle that doesn't go out til midnight or so.
