Our female Zebra who has no mate and has been laying eggs with no end (17th egg today) sometimes like to chase our Society finch.
Society is our new addition and I want to make sure that this little one feels welcome and definitely not being chased in HIS/HER own new home.
Since Zebra seems to act like she is protecting her eggs (which I started removing), does that mean that the Society is a female or male?
I think the Society is a female because comparing with other Societies, her chirping is not as loud and not that constant.
Thank you.

If there is a nest in the cage I suggest you remove it. Providing one only stimulates the hen to lay eggs. Yes, they enjoy sleeping in one and it is cute to see them sticking their heads out, but laying that many eggs is not healthy for your hen.
If she is laying them in a seed cup, you might need to switch to a hopper.

The zebra chasing the society does not indicate the society's sex, only that the zebra feels the society is invading her territory. I agree with Tammie to remove the nest. Also make sure your birds have access to a cuttle bone and provide some boiled egg mashed shell and all to help your hen recover from all that egg laying.
