What treatment did Laraine advice for your sick gouldian? What is KD? Are you still treating her with Ronex 12%?

Sam007 I hadn't seen any changes in her droppings and she was on her 6th day of treatment. Laraine said that Ronex works fairly quick and I should have seen some change by the third day.

She told me to use KD powder. Here is a link explaining its uses and benefits. http://www.ladygouldianfinch.com/product_kd.php

So I'm going to supply KD water for her over a period of 3 days to see if I see any changes in her droppings and go from there. At this point that is her only symptom.

Thanks Betrue2yurself
One of of my gouldian hen had similar watery droppings and used to do butt pumping after each pooping. I purchased her from a birdmart. I treated her with Ronex 12%, 4 in 1 Powder, and CocciCARE one by one (after completing the recommended treatment days of each medicine) but she passed away. So I am interested to know about the treatment of your hen. I wish her a full recovery. [-o< :D

Sam007 Sorry to hear about the loss of your bird.

Did your hen have any other symptoms besides the watery droppings?

She used to be fluffy and sitting on the perch most of the time and tucking her head in feathers but still eating and drinking. Her eyes were not fully open even when awake and eating. Her vent area appeared to be wet and slightly dirty and she liked to scratched her vent a lot.

vinneparis - Yes. The two males were originally from her and were shipped to Louisiana. I purchased them from the breeder there after a year or so and have had them for over a year. They are doing quite well. They are my oldest males but very good breeders. Also healthy and robust. I also have a hen descended from them and she's very healthy as well. I haven't personally dealt with her, but she raises her birds in outdoor aviaries. I don't believe she works with any of the mutations like blues or silvers but breeding to her birds to produce splits is certainly a good option to produce healthier birds.
