Feathers?

First time hand feeding finches, their mouths are pretty small, and some of the food dripped onto them. I tried to clean it up as much as possible but theres still some left and now it's all dried and stuck on their feathers. Should I just leave it or do I have to wash it off or something?

I always gave Tiny Tim a little bath when he messed himself all up After that I would take him in the bathroom and use the blowdryer from a distance on the cool setting and dry him off.
