Improving beak color?

I noticed some zebras have lighter beak colors than others, and I read that the beak does fade to orange (and yellow) if the bird isn't exposed to sun light.

But are there other factors beside the sun that help improve the beak color?

I found this picture online, I love how deep the red is on them and I think only one of my finches is close to this:

Zebra people can chime in, but I think at least part of it is just plain genetics.

hi
i dont know whether you know this or not but there is a yellow beak genetic version of the zebra finch in most colours so for every red beaked variety of zebra finches there is a yellow beak mutation.it makes it hard in mutations like the white where you can only tell the sex of the amle by hoe red his beak is as oppossed to the yellow beak of the hen bird
