Paranoia

Post by kittani79 » Mon Oct 15, 2007 10:11 pm

I need some reassurance :).

My little balding female gouldian finally started showing some pin feathers on the sides of her head (the last *really* bald places) a few weeks ago. They have mostly come in properly, still a bit thin but much better than before for sure. She's eating well and pretty active and generally seems happy. But her general feather... condition I guess?... is kinda different looking. Almost like there are white or gray tips on the feathers on her breast, giving it a layered appearance. I'm kind of assuming she may be molting? Does this sound right?

Also, I'm going to take a picture of the male as soon as I can talk my husband into holding him for me. (He's afraid he'll squish him, hehe)... He has what appears to be a chip off the side of his beak. It's not big, it's just not nice and smooth looking, and I am paranoid.

They both are pretty energetic about their seeds, millet, oyster shell, and I've even caught them trying the pellets a few times. They aren't really excited about the eggbread or veggies but they do pick at it. I assume they're like my cockatiel and simply cautious with new foods.

hi
i think the beak thing may rectify itself as this does happen a lot because the beaks are made up of layers..if you are feeding it all the correct seed and supplements i doubt if it is anything serious ..but take the photo any way and we can advise you better

ken
you can always tell a yorkshireman, but you cant tell him much
