singing males

when do socetiy male start to sing

do they sing before they start to mold

because i have two baby socetiy about month old one start be sing about two/half weeks ago and the other started to sing today they are not to loud and i toke all the adult males out.. i would like to know because i can leg band them as a male

I think they are all different. They can sing before their first molt...

They usually start to sing at about 4-6 weeks of age I've noticed.

if they don't sing befor the first mold but after the first mold is done then most likely they are mals about after 3-4 months
