Can finches and parakeets live together in the same cage?

I've never tried it, but everything I've read says it is not a good idea. The parakeets have such a strong bill, and they can bite off the toes of the little finches.

I wouldn't, hookbills (parakeets etc) have very strong beaks and can be nasty little critters to boot! Maybe in a large aviary that had a lot of places for the finches to get away from the 'keets, but even then I'd worry about a territorial keet harming or killing the wee finches

I tried it once, a couple of years ago, but after a few days the keet became a little too pushy and had to be moved.

I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.

Def a big no no. I used to have parakeets a long time ago. I adored them, but one got very territorial and didn't allow the second to eat.
Two cages is def best two those two types of birds
