I am in the process of making my new hospital cage. And I was wondering What do you guys use for your hospital cages? Wire? glass? wood?
And MAYBE can ya all post pics of them???
i'll post mine soon as it's finished.
Also can ya list pros and cons to your set up ??
Thanks

I just use a smaller cage as a hospital cage. The idea is to restrict the movement of the bird and provide it with easy access to food/water. I lower the perch to the lowest spot in the cage and I use a clamp light with a ceramic heat emitter on the side of the cage and wrap most of the cage with a towel if I want to bring the heat up.
Nothing fancy required.

I also just use a small cage--sometimes I will wrap a heating pad around the back and sides of the cage for warmth. I always lay spray millet on the floor, it's a favorite and easy to get to, with other food and water low as well. If you don't have a grate on the floor, you can always just spread some seed on the floor, too.

We also use a small cage. You can often find a small wire cage in the small animal sections of most large per strore for around $10.00.

I actually took a 5 gallon fish tank turned on its side, I then cut up a cage so I could fit this on the front of the tank complete with a door yea.
I added a perch and wala good to go,

SURE, soon as my sun conure stops YELLING i will go in there, I try to not go in when hes acting that way teaching him quiet gets mom to come visit, I can peek in to see hes not dieing with out him ever knowing, lol
I went the fish tank route so I can be sure of no drafts it will hold the heat a bit better and what not,
I also put fish tank backing of forests on the side and back so bird knows where the glass is AND as an added benefit makes it more private and secure feeling.
I am going to make a 10 gallon for the tiels and conures as well,
ok dimensions and pics to come.

It was SIMPLE to make only tool needed wire cutters for the cage front. Theres a lip in a fish tank so if ya cut the wire just exact it pops in and no need to hook it its tight,
A perch with those caps on the end are what I used ya cut one end off * Make it a snug fit* then hook the capped end to the wire and the other end is wedged against glass,
I could silicone but dont want silicone wear a bird could peck at it,
took me Max 1/2 hour to make,
Oh dimensions when cage is laid down, 5 gallon size are
13 long, 10 1/2 deep and 8 1/2 high
Ill try to post pic once again but i am not holding out hope, lol
