Okay..I have two pairs of zebra finches and i got three of them together one male and two females. then i had bought a male for one female becasue the other 2 had paired up. the male kept chasing the new male so i seperated the 2 pairs. but now both pairs keep whatseems to be trying to all get together, is it okay to put them all back in the same cage?

With Zebras especially, two pairs will almost always squabble, if not outright fight. It is recommended to have either one pair per cage, or three or more pair per cage.

i dont know how may pairs i can keep though. the cage i have right now is only around 18'' long 24 '' tall and 12 '' wide. is that big enough for 3 pairs. im planning on moving them to a big flight cage real soon.

I have all my pairs in the new flight cage and they are very happy. i had a all white female lay her first egg friday and the pair that i thought was gonna lay eggs in the smaller cage built there nest in the new cage right away. just about everyone has paired up already. i have a few different colors too.
