Novice finch keeper question
Hello-
I had 4 society finches- a brother and sister finch living in one bigger cage, and two male finches living in another smaller cage. Yesterday, I found the female of the brother/sister pair dead.
My questions are:
I imagine the bereaved brother will be happier with some company in his big cage-- finches are social birds, right? Can I move the bigger males from the smaller cage into the much bigger cage with the brother, or will they attack him? I really couldnt take losing another bird so soon. I wasn't sure how territorial male finches are- but I would be moving the bigger males into the smaller male's territory, and there are no females.... if it is likely the brother will get killed, I will just move him by himself into the smaller cage and move the bigger boys into the big cage. Unless the brother will be miserable by himself.
any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks so much

I'm sorry to hear of your loss of the female Society Finch.
Society Finches are EXTREMELY social birds and putting the 3 males together should pose no problem whatsoever. They should all get along and be very happy together.
Do let us know when you put them in the larger cage and how it goes for them.
