So, when I get the double flight all set up, I am wanting some species that are a little difficult in determining sexes. If i do mistakenly end up with a male and female of some species and they decide to lay eggs, is there a way I can take them and put in duds? I am not wanting to have any breedings. Well,...... Yet. I'm still getting my husband to loosen up to the idea of the double flight, with 6 birds. Lol! I'm not ready to butter him up for babies yet. Hahaha!

You can order fake eggs online that will often work to fool birds. You just remove the real eggs they lay and replace them with fakes, one at a time, and the birds often will incubate for weeks before giving up. It always amazes me that this works. Birds with real clutches often will roll an egg out of the nest, and we have always assumed that they know that one is bad and so they are getting rid of it. So why are they so easily fooled with fake eggs?
