Need advice on whether to replace deceased finch.

I have a large home-built cage, 2'D x 4'W x 3'H. (Pic in gallery.) Two male Zebras and one each male and female Societies who got along with minimum squabbling. I removed all eggs. (Was advised the Socs were both male when I bought them.) All seemed healthy, but found the female dead this morning. My original intention was to rescue birds, (not buy or breed), as they came along. I was informed that wasn't too practical because of pair and group behavior. Now I'm wondering if I should get another male Soc to restore balance of two pairs, or if the new bird would upset things, or if the 3 birds who have known each other for a year provide enough society for the remaining Society. Observing, so far things seem normal. No male Socs currently avail. for adoption in my area (Mass). Welcome experienced advice. Thanks.

Since they are established cagemates, all may be fine. You will need to watch them, though, because sometimes with three birds, two will gang up on the outsider. Since Zebras can be bullies by nature, make sure your Society doesn't get picked on. When some male Societies come available, you can take out all the birds, rearrange perches, etc., to change the look of the place, then place all birds in at the same time.
