We had 2 pairs of silverbills in 2 cages (All male) unfortunately one had a respiratory infection and died in my hand while i was trying to give him antibiotics. I was wondering would it be OK to keep the 3 males together as i know he will get stressed being by himself. Hope i posted this in the right place i'm a newbie just coming out of lurk mode, Steve

I have never had Silverbills before, so I can't help you on that. Some species will be OK with a same-sex trio, with others two of the birds will buddy up and bully the odd one. Hopefully, others who have experience with this species will chime in.

I have three silverbills myself, though it's a cock and two hens. They get along fine together and also did in a cage before going in the aviary, however the pair tend to ignore the unpaired hen and did go after her when trying to nest.
