European Goldfinch hens do sing, although the song isn't as rich as the male's song.

This one, however, could be a "tricky" male. The mask extends beyond the eye just slightly (small for a male, big for a female). Nasal feathers are black (male) and the lesser coverts seem to be mostly black (male).

I have a male that has a small mask like your bird, mostly black lesser coverts (male) and brown nasal feathers (female). He sings beautifully. You can never be sure unless you DNA sex the bird.

Beautiful bird by the way : )

Vcatalosi - I agree, it looks more like a male with a small mask. The tiny little feathers that should tell you for sure (if this is an adult bird) are at the exact spot where the wing bends down (hidden by your index finger). I enlarged the photo as much as I could, but the best way would be to catch him/her again and check those feathers. Hope this helps.
