determining age in zebra's

Good afternoon everyone,
I was just wondering if there is a way to determine age on Zebra finches. I would like to figure out how old my initial pair is. My male seems to be in his prime which leads me to believe he is possibly a couple of years old, and well my female just strikes me as being an older bird. She just looks older if that makes sense. Its like when you see an older dog or cat and you can just tell that they are old if this makes any sense.
