Goldfinch sexing

I've looked all across the internet trying to sex this guy myself, but no matter what I find I can't make up an estimated guess on the gender. Figured I could get some second opinions.

I had the bird shipped to me back in August as what he/she seemed like an adult bird. He/she does *attempt* to sing, but it's nothing like the typical fully-fledged song of a male goldfinch.

I would guess that you have a female there.

I strongly believe it's a female.it's a well masked female since the red almost passes the eye like a male but not quite.the same thing happened to me last year and right now the same bird has 3 days old babies with my male.
