A little hoarse today ??

Our flight is sitting next to a window that faces our backyard where we have wild bird feeders and a LOT of wild birds visiting. It is very common for our female Owl to talk to our outside visitors. She especially likes the Blue Jays. No clue why...

Today, she sounds a little hoarse; her call/cry is raspy. We've cut her back to two packs a day, so I'm not sure what's wrong.

Has anyone had an Owl (or any finch) have a hoarse/raspy call? She seems fine - eating, drinking, bathing, preening... she's very active. She just sounds a bit odd today.

Any thoughts?

Just discovered your post.

How is your little Owl girl doing (on two packs a day)? Any complaints? :D

If she's competing with lot's of wildbirds outside, maybe she just strained her vocal cords.

I hope all is back to normal now (?)

Best wishes

Elana

She might be trying to immitate the blue jay or some other birds song.
