A Blue Breasted Gouldian (?)

Hello Gouldian Specialists and all others :-)

While looking across some Gouldian pictures, I came across this bird. To the best of my recollection, I have never seen a blue breasted Gouldian before (not even in pictures).
That engaged my curiosity.

Has anyone ever seen, owned or come across such a creature in their travels?
AND, how on earth was this mutation achieved ?

I have to say, that I don't find this mutation very attractive, but that could be due to the fact, that this poor bird appears to be in a sad condition.

I did some reading awhile back and came across odd colored goulds. They called it a Melanistic condition. Not enough light poor nutrition. At least that's what I read....I'm not an expert tho.

Found the original site for that picture (I'm pretty sure your supposed to add a link when it's not yours) so I could see it a bit better and that bird is definitely Melanistic. You can tell from all the extra black tints in the feathers.
RUN from anyone telling you that bird is special

Thanks ladies.

I'd thought melanistic, only applied to head colour (don't know why :-)).

I would not be interested in this bird anyway (as mentioned above) Just wondered if there actually is a mutation like that.
