I've red somewhere that if a finch has diarrhea , you can give them cold tea ..
I am sceptical about that , what tea should I give them and should I replace water with tea or a separate cup for tea?
Does anyone know about this?

I've read multiple places that caffeine is a NO - NO for birds, as they already have high metabolisms, and the increased metabolic rate from caffeine would not be good.
I imagine it'd be like cocaine/thyroid storm for birds...

Re: Tea for finches?
An old timer once told me that a plant called Comfrey, used or years to make an herbal tea, is really good for birds. He gave me some root starts for my veggie garden and I've been growing it ever since. Not sure if there's any caffeine in it but all my bird species except for the doves, just love the stuff.
They get about 10 huge leaves of this special treat presented in a flower vase so it stays fresh - every week or so. Plenty of other veggies available but this one is usually gone in less than a day.

Favorite hobby is continuing to improve on a landscaped, weather protected, 500 sq ft mixed aviary with 23 fascinating species. 30 years in the making; currently have
19 different Finch species, 2 types of Doves, plus 23 Button Quail and 30 pair of clear Red Factor Canaries.

Blimey Paul you've just brought back some memories to me as its quite funny that I had an old timer probably some 28 years ago got onto using Russian comfrey with the big leaves, my canaries and British finches used to devour this when I used to blend it up,Paul's Amazing Birds wrote: An old timer once told me that a plant called Comfrey, used or years to make an herbal tea, is really good for birds.
