Cages, are one of those things, when bigger is always better.

Me advice, is get the biggest cage or flight you have room for and which you can afford.

I have flights for my birds, I am very fond of the F030's, which I buy second hand for a fraction of the full price whenever I come across them. However, they are BIG, so that's something to keep in mind space wise  .

I'm curious Elana, how many of the F030's do you have for your birds?

Also. do you have a separate bird room for them, or are they throughout the house?

I always like to know about other people's set-ups, as it gives me ideas :)

I have a tiny bird room, and let me tell you, fitting these large flights in there was no easy chore. Can't even remember how many times I had to move things around and around, and around again..... and there still isn't enough room to swing a cat in there (not that one would want to swing a cat in a bird room... not a good idea, lol).

There are 2- F030, end to end on one wall ( which I am considering attaching together). Another big tall flight in one corner, an extra long flight (made out of three flights attached together) on another wall. Another smaller flight cage for the Budgies, along with some smaller accomodations for new birds, sick birds, troublesome birds etc.

Then there are some more flights in the garage, for which I have some plans, and there is another F030 for sale on kijiji, which I have my eye on.

I think my bird room is going to explode one day :D

Chubbychickenbones My personal feeling is that the smallest cage any finch should be in would be a 30x18x18 (for a pair or a single finch waiting for a mate).
3 Purple Grenadiers, 1 Goldbreast + 1 cat.

Sally

Thank you Sally that is what our cage is almost. 30''H, 18''L, 14''W
for the CB and we are ordering another one or bigger for the singer or all of them. But we keep them out most of the day and they also all like to hang out in each others cages too now so we leave the doors open to both and we made a tree for them out of Arbutus .

I buy second hand fllights, cages etc. on kijiji.
You usually have to clean them, but you end up paying so much less , that it's really worth it.

I'm glad you like my little bird room.
I like it too, but I really wish that it was a little biger.

No, I don't do free flight, although that would be nice, but with the dogs around, it simply wouldn't be safe .

LOVE your bird room! Thanks for posting some pics-that would be my dream setup....but I will have to wait until I am settled in at my new place before I buy any of the super-large flight cages :)
