lem2bert - beautiful cage setup
Your male if very pretty too, what a lovely pair
And lots of room if babies come some day.
I wonder what color the babies would turn out to be.
I had read it is better to wait a year so not too young and to get them in good breeding condition.
Great pictures.

Where do u get ur cage liner paper?

Thank-you, I am trying to wait before I put a nest in there for that reason. They are young birds . I often think the same thing (wonder what their babies would look like) and hopefully I will be able to breed them toward the end of the year.

I buy rolls of craft paper from Amazon . It is 18" wide by anywhere from 900 ft to 1200 ft depends on what is available. I use a meat paper cutter to cut it . Works great for me because I cannot stand the smell of newspaper in my cages especially when it gets wet from baths.

lem2bert - thank you for the info on the paper.
I looked into a paper cutter for roll but many reviews said that they didn't have a sharp end for really cutting the paper.
Does the one u have cut well or is it more just to help hold while tear or use scissors?
If it cuts well what is the name of it?

I too hate the smell of wet newspaper. And since my finches enjoy foraging on the bottom for bird seed, I also read newspaper ink was bad for them.

That was my concern also, but you measure out what you want hold onto the end and pull up. Works perfectly kinda like when you put a ruler on a piece of paper and pull it up to rip it only the cutter cuts a clean edge. I would rather not have a blade on it as I have two little nephews that I watch and they love the bird room. I certainly would not want one of them to get cut on it !!! Me either #-o

Zebsoc, you can also fold the paper to the size you want, put a good crease in it, and slide a small, sharp buck knife between the papers cutting it where the fold is. I've done that for years with brown contractor paper rolls that can be purchased from Lowes.
