Outside temperature

I live in BC and we get cold snowy winters so my birds have always been inside and not acclimatized to the outdoors. But now it is warmer out and I would like to put them outside during the day.
Are there any guidelines as far as temperature and moving finches in and out?
Thanks

I would say a gradual transition is best. You live in windy rainy BC so make sure they are sheltered from drafts...
I'd recommend supervised visits outside for a while on warm days. Make sure they are safe from predators.

Great thank you Thats very helpful. I was just going to roll their cage onto our back deck but it might be too sunny there after reading these links

Oh no definitely not too sunny! we used to let our star canary romp around in the uncut grass in the back yard when the summer was sunniest and hottest... He loved it!

Finch wings should never be clipped.

I did that with my canaries the other day, they had a nice time picking in the lawn.
I set mine outside whenever it's above 60 and sunny, without a strong breeze. When they were acclimated outside, my birds did just fine with 50 degree nights, but don't try that now.
