Goodbye - Thank you

Post by zebsoc » Wed Jun 21, 2017 6:40 pm

I gave up my birds yesterday.
Thank you for helping me try to keep them. I need to now focus on my declining health.
I thank you for all your helpful information and support throughout my time with my birds.

While I'll miss them that is not important now when a relative just had her 2 children murdered this week.
Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

There is a donation site to help with funeral costs for her 2 young children 6 yrs and 1.5 yrs old.
Is it ok to give a link?

Oh my God!!!

I am so so sorry about your relative's children. So sorry for your family.
That is absolutely horrific, and there are not enough words to convey my sorrow for this poor mother. Losing your children, is a nightmare that never ends.

I don't know about puting up a donation site. You will have to ask Sally about that.

I am sorry about your health as well, and about having to give up your birds.

Wishing you all the best.

lovezebs - thank you

The childrens' mother, grandparents and family are devastated.
It was the childrens' own father who killed them.

How horrible.
Truly devastating.
It sounds like you indeed have pressing reasons to give up keeping birds now.
Hopefully your health will improve, and the trauma of the tragedy heal in the future.
You can always get a pair of birds later if you feel up to it.
Hope you manage to find good homes for your current ones.

A letter that was written by the children's mother:

Community of Sonoma County,
I sit here at 7:06 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 swaddled in my daughter’s blanket and drinking tea from a cup that reads “I love you mom,” fighting back the tears and struggling to make sense of this horrific situation. As I hear updates and stories coming out in regards to my children’s identity and pictures of them without my knowledge I am visibly distraught and upset. They are my precious innocent children that were beyond loved by their family, friends and community. I know I am not the only person that is or has gone through this horrific unimaginable situation, so please help me spread stories like this to raise awareness that is much needed to help prevent anything like this happening to another family.
I sought help on numerous occasions and said many, many, many times my children were in danger in their father’s care and I didn’t receive the urgent help I needed to save them.

How horrific for you! My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Of course you can leave the link up.

I am glad that you found a home for your birds. Now you can concentrate on your health, which is the most important thing right now. Take care of yourself, and let us know how you are doing from time to time, if you feel like it.

Thank you for allowing us to be aware and donate as we wish. Never do we believe something like this would happen in our families or our lives, but no one is exempt. So very tragic.
