Yep, I only have self societies now. Unfortunately, they're not common around me; out of the couple hundred I must have looked at, only four were selfs. (And I bought them all... Maybe it's a good thing there weren't many XD)


I think Floopy's my favorite; he seemed to have inherited Macbeth's dark color and Tacocat's pattern:

Icearstorm yep they are nice I have two of these obv coco and then a female I’ve got but she’s a self chocolate where coco is a grey pearl but all my others are pied I really can’t find any more selfs eventually I want all selfs

Perhaps you could get more self society finches by breeding your selfs to lightly pied societies. If the pieds are single-factor, then 50% of the offspring should be selfs in that scenario. Or you could breed two single-factor pieds, but only 25% of those offspring would be selfs. It could be difficult to get a large enough gene pool to work with, though.

Icearstorm I keep trying this but the only annoying thing is that they look like selfs but when they hit about two months old sometimes three they come out with white marks above there beak but now I have coco and that female that’s a self chocolate they will surely make some nice chicks
