Sounds in relationship to emotions

Post by Strickalator » Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:07 pm

So far after studying my zebra finches here is what I notice:

When the male is ready to make love he makes a song a couple of times along with a few agressive meeps.

When the female is ready she makes a series of fast and loud meeps and lifts her tail up in the air.

When they are calling each other they make a crying meep sound its a real long meep and loud.

When the birds are scared of me they make real fast meeps and fly away.

Normal times they make a soft meep.

When Bobbbie (the male) goes into the nest to work on it he makes a cooing sound it almost sounds like a human puckering there lips and making the kissing sound. Then Jessie the girl, will respond with loud meeps if she doesnt like what hes doing or soft meeps and will come up to explore if she does like it.

Anyone else notice sounds your finches make for certain emotions?

I've heard mine make a quiet wimpering sound. Don't know what that's all about.
