fighting or playing?

Post by tex » Fri Jan 18, 2019 6:48 am

i have had two male zebras for the past year and they have always got along great with zero squabbling, they preen each other and are generally good chums...HOWEVER for the past few days one keeps jumping on top of the other and pecking him, normally the squirmish will last about 10 seconds and then they both sit apart from each other flicking the tail feathers and whimpering. My wife suggested they were playing but i dont agree.....Any advice is welcome

The one jumping on top of the other is probably trying to tell the other that he is the boss, however if the other finch doesn't accept they will start to fight. Watch carefully for any signs of aggression.
Have a nice day!
