I’ve got two male finches, they sleep in the same nest and seem to really like each other. I’ve even caught them preening each other. I’m getting a significantly bigger cage for them that’s 31(side to side) x 20.5 (front to back) x 53 (top to bottom) I was hoping I could get them two females and a pair of a different type of finch if I take out the nest?

LunesEMartes are yours zebras ? If you get two females the males will just start being aggressive and each pair with become enemies in the cage

Yeah I threw everything I knew about keeping finches in groups out the window when I saw two societies in seemingly terrible condition. The crested one had all their tail feathers pulled out (duck) and the other one looked like her tail feathers went through a shredder (Evergreen). I bought them after much hesitation and was going to keep them in a seperate cage but felt bad and put them in the big cage with my two zebras. Tuesday (no one could pronounce Lunes or Martes correctly so I changed it to Monday and Tuesday) chased the one a bit but I heard that was normal when introducing new finches and they seem to get along really well now. Duck is a boy and Evergreen is a girl btw
