wondering how much interest there would be in having either a yearly census done for the forum, sort of like the forums own record of which birds are on the increase

in number or are decreasing

also shows which birds are still around and which have disappeared from aviaries/cages altogether.
as the majority of members on the forum are american or canadian, it would probably be better to break it down into those countries also

now that a few of you have answered in the positive I'll add the hardest part, there is a lot of work involved in setting it up. as I raised the subject I will be willing to obtain & then collate the info and then set up the initial pages but after that it becomes a yearly/ongoing thing which will reqiure some help from the admin team

I got the census in the email but I am having a hard time following it.

There are some indicators there that I am not sure what you mean.

Blue SF Male??? What is this?

Would it be possible to use standard (or semi-standard) nomenclature?
I don't think it is necessary to indicate recessive blues or recessive white breasts.

I think we should focus simply on the body color mutation? Just my opinion but I feel as though this would be easiest, and I believe this is the way NFSS does their Census..

Yellow Gouldian Male

a couple of other names wont sound right to you crazy northern hemisphere folk either

a doublebar is another name for an owl.
orange breast = goldbreast

if anyone comes across further names like that please post it here so everyone can see.

if only all countries would use the same names and classifications for birds. would make everything so much easier
