Leaving birds while away

I am taking a 2 night 3 day vacation and wondered if its okay to leave my finches alone with plenty of food and water. I usually bring the cage to someone to watch them, but its alot of work. Is it okay to leave them alone for that length of time?
I have a large flight cage with 11 birds, all different kinds of finches and one male canary.
Thanks for any help.

Leaving birds for any more than 1 night is always stressful for me.
You just never know what can happen during that period of time.
I would have to suggest seeing if you can find a friend or family member to maybe just stop by and check that the birds are okay at least once while you are away?

I would think they will be fine as long as you give them several water and food sources. The waters that hang on outside with the litte cup that sticks Thur the bars don't get pooped in as much, if they have some time to learn to drink from them before you leave.

It's also nice to have the seed hoppers so you don't end up with a bunch of seed covered in hulls.

I will often leave my birds for a weekend.
Leaving on a Friday evening and returning on a Sunday evening. I make sure to have 2 or 3 seperate water dishes for every cage and fresh seed, 2 millets and a heaping scoop of egg food before I go.
Never had a problem yet (knock on wood)

The only thing different from Finch Fry, I would suggest using a commercial eggfood instead of homemade, then you can give them a heaping dishful without worrying about it spoiling while gone. And that may be what you use, Chris.

yes ma'am
and i have a seed hopper on each cage (like Dianna said) which typically only needs to be filled once a week
