I have a white red-eyed baby society finch among a clutch hatched about a month ago.Is this special? Shall I keep him/her in hopes of producing more?

hi
it is not that special as there are afew about but not as many as the other colours i would hold on to it and breed with it and you will be bound to breed more eventually

I have to say I have never seen one in person. Don't know if that means they are rare or I just live a sheltered life. :?

I've seen photos of albino societies Kenny. :P

I meant I have never actually seen one in real life. :)

That's a nice site by the way. Lots of beautiful Society mutations pictured. I love the Pearls. Would like to get my hands on a pair of those!

I have an albino hen that I bred to a grey split to albino. One albino chick from the first clutch, and four out of five are albino from the second. Albino is like grays or pearls - it's a mutation, so harder to find and generally priced higher. If you want to breed for albinos, the mate to your chick will need to be a split to albino.
