Hello
I want to know if zebras can live with budgies.

I've never had zebras and budgies together. However, I have had both zebras and budgies at different times. I would say no. Budgies are much bigger and stronger, and their beaks are much, much stronger (along with their bite). Even in play, a budgie could easily bite the toe off of a zebra. And when the budgie gets irritated with the constant bothering from the zebra, who knows what could happen. The zebra just plain doesn't have the strength to fight off a budgie.

Now, for every opinion like mine you hear, I'm sure you'll be able to find a case where the budgie and finch lived together just fine for years. But I think that is the exception rather than the rule.

I agree with Steve that in general the advice is don't mix the hookbills (budgies) with the softbills (finches). That said, my Mom did allow her canary and her budgie to fly out together. They were housed separately but had freedom of the house. I think that particular parakeet was extra special, though.... a super gentle bird.

I belong to a UK based budgie forum that has members who have been able to keep finches and budgies together... but ONLY in large aviaries.

I don't know if I would risk it.

And I definitely feel keeping them in the same cage is asking for trouble, the little finch wouldn't stand a chance.
