OMG, I think they're taunting me!! The pet store won't take the chicks until ALL the black is off their beak. 2 have all but a tiny bit and 2 have a black smudge, they're 9 weeks old, how much longer until all that black is gone? The male is starting to get his orange cheeks already and he's still got a wee bit of black on there. I'm going to call the store and see if they'll take them with a little bit of black, I just don't understand why when they're singing and mating and such they still have black on their beaks

You could always get some orange paint.

lol thanks Finchlet, I was thinking that your guys had babies not too long before mine but the pics you posted a week or so ago, the fledglings looked to be fully mature, I was wondering what the heck is going on with mine! SO hopefully next week they can go, I'm getting a little antsy. John is going out of town from the 20 - 26 and I'd like to give these guys to the store and order the new bird before then so the cage can sit empty for at least that week while he's gone.
