I need some good advice!
So I have recently ( a couple months ago ) bought to society finches. I am a university student and I may be away for the summer doing an apprenticeship across the country (pending acceptance). Having the birds there is completely out of the question. I am concerned on what I should do with my birds. I was thinking about asking a friend to take care of them (wonder who would agree to that) and I have also thought about if that was an impossibility trying to find someone to give the birds too. feel terrible as I did not anticipate this sort of thing. Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you have a friend that is totally dependable and willing, that would be one way to go. If you don't have anyone you feel would stay with it for the whole summer, you could rehome them on a place like craigslist or kijiji. You could sell the pair only, or sell them with cage, whatever works for you.
Don't feel bad about it. People sometimes have to rehome pets due to health, job, finances, etc.--life happens.
I think I will move this to General Questions.

You might even ask if someone will foster them, just while you are away. Don't feel bad. I've had to rehome finches when I moved. You will miss them, more than they will miss you!
And that's the truth! As long as the food magically appears in their cage, they are not going to care where it comes from.

I'd be willing to foster them if you were just a little closer to me. (Or, if your travel allows you to make a detour to Georgia and drop them off.)
Maybe you can find somebody on this forum closer to you who would be willing to do that? (I suggest changing the title of the post though.) Or, if you want to sell them/give them away, there is a Market Place forum here as well.
In any case, don't feel guilty! You are doing a very responsible thing. (I'm sure lots of other people would just drop them off at the humane society or worse.)

I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.

Re: I need some good advice!
Would your parents/family or a friend of the family with kids be willing to watch the birds for you? With adult supervision, letting a kid watch the birds could be a valuable lesson in responsibility (provided a parent is willing to pick up any slack).
I feel for you, I've had to go abroad a few times through the course of my studies, so I had to find babysitters for my critters. But don't feel bad, life happens.

Re: I need some good advice!
Thank You for the suggestions all,
I feel bad in the sense that I did not plan for this when I probably should have. I will be asking around and have already looked on the web for potential caretakers. I would probably give them up rather than do a temporary thing, seeing as I have grown so attached to them so quickly I would not want to do that to someone else. Thanks Again, for this advice and advice previous. This really is a good source unlike a lot of other online groups. Thank Ya.
