colored eggs

Post by JezeKat » Sat Apr 03, 2010 3:11 pm

can i use color eggs for my egg food?
we don't really like eggs in our house but we still love to color them for the kids

so i was kinda hoping that i did not just have to waste them this year.

we used just the colored pill tab thing. no stickers or glitters just the food die tablets

I don't know what the "colour pill" things contain but I suppose you could peel the coloured shell off the eggs and then use the insides (hardboiled white and yolks) for eggfood.

I agree, I wouldn't use the dyed eggshells, but if the color doesn't bleed thru to the inside, the hardboiled egg should be fine to mash up for the birds.

Usually the dye tablets for coloring Easter eggs are just food coloring in a tablet form. Just to be safe though, like Sally and Liz said, I would peel the shells off and just feed the inside. :)
