Hiya
I was just wondering, I am guessing that many of you have gotten some of your birds from another state, but has any of you gotten any from another country?
Do you usually drive/fly and go and get them personally or can you somehow ship them without going yourself?
Not that I am going to be shipping any birds, I'm just wondering here. And since there are not that many types of finches here I am also allowing myself to daydream.
Shipping birds to other states or countries.

Re: Shipping birds to other states or countries.
Shipping via airlines within the US is easy - but importing/shipping birds from other countries is extremely expensive and time consuming.
The birds are required to go to a mandated quarantine facility which is your responsibility to pay for.
If the birds die during quarantine, you get no reimbursement.
This is generally why when people import, they usually do so in LARGE numbers and a lot of people will go in on the shipment together.
I don't know how shipping within other countries works.. but I know in the US it is relatively painless.
