Hi guys.
I was wondering how long does the first molt of finches (zebras) take?
I have chicks that are now almost 6 weeks old and one of them has started showing some male colour, few black stripes and little patches of orange and started showing the black lines at least 14 days ago. The other one is so white that nothing is showing yet.
So I was just wondering how long it usually takes for them to get into their full adult colours.

Núna er hann held ég 4ra mánaða.

*Okei, þannig það tekur alveg upp í 4-5 vikur að fá allar fjaðrirnar? Þá hætti ég að reyna að stara á þá og fá þá til að fá fjaðrirnar fyrr

Ok, then it takes up to 4-5 weeks to get all of the feathers? Then I'll stop trying to stare them into changing faster

Heh yes it is quite awesome. A mere chance that it hasn't been whiped out throughout history since we icelanders are only about 300,000. But I guess that are the advantages to living in a island far off in the northen sea ;)
